AAMC and Internet2 Host Live Demonstrations of Revolutionary Internet Applications

WHAT: The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), in collaboration with Internet2, will unveil exciting advances in health care technology. Six demonstrations will show cutting-edge high-bandwidth applications being developed at medical schools and teaching hospitals:

Demonstrations are as follows:

  • Telepresence in the Operating Room-Ohio State University
  • Biomedical Tele-Immersion-University of Illinois at Chicago
  • Testbed for Collaborative Videoconferencing in Medical Education and Consultation-National Library of Medicine
  • Stereoscopic Rendered Images and Video Streaming-University of Central Florida
  • Distributed Medical Informatics Education-Oregon Health Sciences University and University of Pittsburgh
  • The Advanced Applications Clearinghouse-NLANR Distributed Applications Support Team
