Project Medical Education
Champion of Medical Education Award
The AAMC Project Medical Education Champion of Medical Education
Award was established in the fall of 2002. Nominations for the award
are solicited from members of several of AAMC's constituent groups,
reviewed by the Project Medical Education steering committee, and
approved by the AAMC Executive Committee.
The nominations are evaluated on whether the nominees meet the
following criteria:
- is a national leader/advocate for legislative and/or regulatory
policies in support of medical education within Congress or within
the Administration:
- has written or spoken about medical education policies outside
of the legislative arena, that is, in the press, policy journals,
national meetings;
- and has advocated for both undergraduate and graduate medical
education.
In May 2003, AAMC honored Senator Edward Kennedy with the inaugural Champion
of Medical Education Award. More >>
