OSR—Women In Medicine Coordinating Committee (WIM) Update

March 2008

The AAMC's Women in Medicine Coordinating Committee met in March 2008. Several issues facing women in academic medicine were raised: support for childcare/dependents, part-time career options, defining expectations in the workplace, transitioning from residency to faculty positions, understanding the culture and politics of various institutions.

The committee planned for the 2008 AAMC Annual meeting. Sessions will focus on leadership development, career planning, and recruiting faculty. If you have any questions or comments, kindly let me know. WIM Coordinating Committee Liaison
