OSR Western Region Update

June 2008

Greetings and Updates from the Western Region! It was wonderful to see everyone who was able to make it to the AAMC-OSR Western Regional Meeting in Monterey, CA! As always, we soaked up the sun and had some fun on the beach, while getting business done, too!

Our business meetings were very productive. We discussed, debated and reviewed issues including career counseling/development programs, the AAMC Governance Review, Blackboard, VSAS, the comprehensive review of the USMLE, the possibility of residency program match data, the Cost Reduction Act, financial aid, 3rd and 4th year elective opportunities, professionalism, honor codes and also met with individuals from MCAT to give input on the redesign of their image.

Additionally, thank you to Summet, Amanda, Virginia, and Chris from UCLA for all of their help with the meeting! Keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing everyone in San Antonio, TX in November!
