OSR Southern Regional Update
November 2009
Greetings from the South! Congrats on a making Boston a great Annual
Meeting! In the coming months, make note of new thoughts to bring to the
National Spring Regional Meeting on April 17-21, 2010: REsponsibly FORMing
Our Future, Hitting the Right Note in Austin.
As we left Boston with a Health Reform bill passed, this meeting promises
to be both timely and stimulating!
- Until then, stay in the loop with more legislative affairs updates,
brought to you by new SOSR delegate Nathan Copeland and the Legislative
Affairs committee.
- Closer to our daily lives, Bill Teeter is creating an annual meeting
digest with the Communications team to review all that was discussed
and shared in the meeting. Stay tuned!
- Post-super-successful career fair in Boston, Phillip Murray is already
working with the Community and Diversity committee to plan the career
fair in Austin! The team also continues to make progress on their
GoogleMap project of AAMC schools.
- Elizabeth Schulz and the Med Ed team put together a great review
of innovative medical curricula. TIME project links are on Blackboard
(Medical Education Committee's Tracking Innovations in Medical Education
(TIME) Submissions)
- New Southern delegate for Student Affairs, Richie Edeen, is working
with his committee as they continue to analyze the financial burden
on medical students. Check out the FIRST
links to financial/debt online.
Interested in a liaison position? Applications
are due on Jan 4!
