OSR Southern Regional Update

September 2008

Greetings from the South! I hope you had a safe and relaxing summer and that all are settling into the new school year. A special "welcome" to all of the newly elected OSR representatives. I look forward to working with you in the coming months.

I hope everyone has made plans to attend the 2008 AAMC Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas from October 31-November 3rd. You don't want to miss this! We have some exciting sessions scheduled, covering topics such as business in healthcare, conflicts of interest, and the residency match. Of course, we have some fun social events planned as well. I encourage each of you to consider participating in the poster or innovative programming session. I also hope that many of you will volunteer to help with the career fair for underrepresented students. Finally, please email me your suggestions for discussion topics for our regional business meetings!

I'd like to end this update by saying that it has been an absolute pleasure serving as your Southern Region Chair this past year. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Alamo!
