OSR Community & Diversity UpdateSeptember 2008 The Community and Diversity Committee has been diligently working to
prepare for the MAS Career Fair that will take place at the AAMC annual
meeting in San Antonio. We have changed the format of the OSR session
to give the students and parents a more well-rounded experience. We hope
to accomplish this by rotating OSR reps as well has setting broad topics
to be discussed during each 20-minute block. The committee also has collaborated
to revise the "Things I Wish I Had Known" document. These changes include
eliminating the high school portion of the document, as the career fair
participants will consist of college students. As a committee, our goal
now is to encourage OSR reps to volunteer for the event. It is our hope
that we will have a diverse population of OSR reps from all backgrounds
and medical school tracks. Emails will be sent out to the OSR reps via
the listserve and information will be posted to the Online Community (Blackboard)
explaining the session along with specific contact information for those
