AAMC-OSR: Profiles in Career AdvisingDue to its impact on the future of all medical students, career advising may be just as important as learning the art and science of medicine. The OSR student affairs committee created the Profiles in Career Advising Documents (PCAD) to provide information on career advising programs from various medical schools that are considered successful by the schools' medical students. Diverse institutions from each region are profiled including large and small schools as well as public and private schools. While each program approaches career advising differently, all of them are focused on helping each of their students select the residency program best suited for them. PCAD includes profiles from schools that highlight specific components of their unique career advising programs. We hope that you find the ideas in this document helpful by learning about career advising programs at other medical schools and that we continue to benefit from each other's experiences.
