Tuition and Fees

The Annual Student Tuition and Fees Report details each institution's tuition and fee charges. The data in this report were obtained from the Tuition and Student Fees Questionnaire. 123 accredited U.S. medical schools reported tuition and fee data for 2005-2006. One medical school, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, does not charge tuition or student fees. LSU New Orleans was unable to submit data for 2005-2006.

Financial Aid Data

AAMC collects LCME Financial Aid data, which are available through the AAMC Medical School Profile System (MSPS). The following is a brief introduction of the report system.

The LCME I-B Financial Aid Summary Report provides institutional level data on three major dimensions: student counts, financial aid and graduate indebtedness. The Student Counts report includes the following variables: total medical student enrollment, total number of students receiving any financial aid, and percentage of students receiving financial aid. The Financial Aid Totals report includes the following variables: total grants with service, grants without service, total financial aid grants, total loans, total work-study, and the total amount of financial aid to medical students from all sources. The Graduate Indebtedness report includes the number of current year graduates with debt, the amount of educational graduates with debt for the current year, the average debt of indebted current year medical school graduates and the number of current year graduates with debt of $50,000 and above, $80,000 and above, and $100,000 and above.
