Institutional Development

The AAMC conducts an annual development survey designed to assist medical school deans and hospital CEOs in assessing the effectiveness of their institutional fundraising. The survey also enables member institutions to benchmark their development programs against those of other medical schools or teaching hospitals, which are similar in terms of staff size, organizational structure, budget, and amount of revenue raised. In addition, the database allows the AAMC to compile and report national trends in the fundraising of medical schools and teaching hospitals, information that also may guide our constituent's development programs. The report generates data on total private support by institution, development staff by function and institution, cost of fundraising/development programs by institution, and summary of compensation of key development staff.

For more information about this survey, please visit the AAMC Annual Development Survey.
