Faculty Roster

AAMC's Faculty Roster generates tables on the annual distribution of U.S. medical school faculty by: department, school, rank, ethnicity, degree, gender, primary specialty, and tenure status. The Trend Data includes: gender and ethnicity of U.S. medical school faculty, U.S. medical school faculty members by degree and department, and tenure status (tenured and tenure-eligible) of U.S. medical school faculty members by degree and department.

In addition, Faculty Roster also has a Data Report Generator which allows users to generate customized tables on information such as percentages of full-time U.S. medical school faculty by academic rank, degree, age (in 10-year age groups), race and sex. User-defined specifications include faculty group (all faculty, basic sciences faculty only, or clinical sciences faculty only), year (1997-2000), region, ownership, and specific school. All data are as of Dec. 31 of the selected year.

Moreover, searches can be conducted on name, rank, department, and institution of a faculty member at U.S. medical schools.

Please go to the Faculty Roster to access the annual and trend data, report generator, and online directory.

If you have questions about Faculty Roster System Data Report Generator, please contact Hershel Alexander, Ph.D. at halexander@aamc.org.
