I. Curriculum
Section A: Faculty development to prepare faculty to work with
students and patients.
Section B: Curricular components, interviewing skills, etc.
Section C: Faculty who have expertise
Section D: Education and Training in topics pertaining to GLBT
included as a required competency
II. Policies
When possible schools should have policies that explicitly address
issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. Those
policies could include notice of non-discrimination, appropriate
treatment of students and a procedure to address complaints and
insitutional commitment to making policies effective.
III. Services
Institutional support for GLBT based student organization when
requested including faculty liaison, financial support comparable
to other student groups, meeting space, support for student networking
or institutional activities for support and networking, personal
and career counseling provided by individuals sensitive to the needs
of GLBTI, safe zone training for faculty and staff, and access to
health care that is responsive to the specific needs of GLBT students.

students and patients. Theys address medical school
responses to the needs of and educational programming for GLBT medical students and attitudes
toward GLBT students and patients.
