Handbook
This handbook, first prepared by the Group on Student Affairs (GSA)
ad hoc Committee on Medical Licensure (1996-97) and revised by the
GSA National Committee on Student Records (in 1998 and 2001), is
intended as a resource guide for medical school registrars, as well
as a source of general information for every student affairs professional.
Guidelines for Maintaining Active and Permanent Individual Student
Records (PDF, 3 pages)
These guidelines, approved by the AAMC Executive Council in February 2005, were developed
by the GSA National Committee on Student Records to assist medical
school student records officers in developing and implementing medical
school policies relating to the maintenance of academic records
for currently enrolled students, former students, and graduates.
View the various student database
systems (PDF, 2 pages) used at AAMC-member medical
schools. This information was collected at the June 2004 Joint Admissions/Minority
Affairs/Student Records Professional Development Conference in Santa
Fe, N.M. Please use this information to communicate with each other
about schools' experiences with the various database systems available.
This section of the Committee on Student Records site is for topics
currently being discussed in the committee. If you have a suggestion
for Hot Topics e-mail cosr@aamc.org.
