University of California, San Francisco Raising Hope 2001
Now in it's third year, the UCSF Foundation produces the Raising
Hope gala to raise funds for the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center.
In addition to dinner, the gala also included performances by Michael
Crawford and Nathalie Cole.
Goals:
- Produce a cost-effective yet high profile event to raise money
for UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center
- Cultivate donors
- Create further awareness of the cancer center
- Meet expectations of audience from previous two years' gala
events
Results:
- Raised $5.9 million for the cancer center
- Enlisted corporate sponsorships and donors, including the Fairmont
Hotel which donated all food, beverages and décor for the event
- Local media covered the event extensively
- Established the Raising Hope gala as a part of the San Francisco's
social and philanthropic scene
