The GEA has four sections, reflecting the continuum of medical education: Undergradute Medical Education (UGME), Graduate Medical Education (GME), Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Research in Medical Education (RIME).
Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME)
The purpose of the UGME Section is to promote excellence in the education of medical students from selection to graduation and thereby contribute to the health of the public.
Graduate Medical Education (GME)
The purpose of the GME Section is to promote excellence in the education of physicians during residency training and thereby contribute to the health of the public.
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
The purpose of the CME Section is to promote excellence in the education of physicians throughout their careers and thereby contribute to the health of the public.
Research in Medical Education (RIME)
The mission of the RIME Section is to enhance the quality of research in medical education and to promote its application to educational practice.
