The WGEA is one of four regional groups of the AAMC Group on Educational
Affairs (GEA). We strive to promote excellence in the continuum
of medical education by fostering the professional development of
medical educators and advancing research in medical education. Annual
meetings provide opportunities to share ideas and resources and
report research among its members.

The Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) program is designed
to provide a basic foundation in research principles relevant to
educational research in medical education. Those interested in receiving
a MERC Certificate must complete six (6) workshops at the regular
rate and pay an additional $100 fee for the MERC Certificate. For
questions about the MERC program or workshops, please contact Caroline
Coleman at ccoleman@aamc.org
or 202-828-0412. No refunds will be issued for the MERC Certificate
Program.
