GBA-Human Resources Listserve

The GBA-Human Resources listserve is open to all GBA members with a particular interest in human resources.

The purpose of this listserve is to create a network of human resources professionals to provide a forum for the sharing of ideas, challenges, best practices, and development opportunities. This networking will lead to better integration of the Human Resource functions with the financial, operational and strategic planning goals of the business of academic medicine and research.

If you are interested in getting more involved with this forum within the GBA, please contact Heather Sacks at hsacks@aamc.org or 202-862-6220, or Mary Dupont at mary_dupont@hms.harvard.edu or 617-432-0705.

The GBA-HR listserve is moderated. This means that all messages are reviewed by the listserve manager before posting. The moderated format is used to both minimize redundant requests for information, and so that the system is not overwhelmed by messages that result from automatic response functions that are a part of many e-mail systems.

To join the list:

  1. Send an e-mail from your computer addressed to: majordomo@aamcinfo.aamc.org

  2. Do not put anything in the subject line of your message.

  3. In the body of your message, type: Subscribe gbahr

  4. Shortly thereafter, you should receive a message acknowledging that you are now subscribed to the list.

To submit an e-mail message to the list once you are subscribed, send it to: gbahr@aamcinfo.aamc.org

Please follow these important tips:

  1. Include your name and e-mail address in the body of each e-mail message you send.

  2. Identify the specific topic of your message in the subject line of your e-mail.

  3. Understand that when you use the "reply" function to a listserve message, your response goes to all listserve subscribers. If you wish to respond privately to an individual, don't hit the "reply" button; instead, send a message using that person's individual e-mail address.
