Faculty Development and Leadership Programs at the AAMC

The AAMC has a new focus on faculty development and leadership. The Division of Medical School Affairs welcomed Diane Magrane, M.D. to the position of Associate Vice President of the section on Faculty Development and Leadership programs on January 15, 2004. The new programs build upon the 25-year history of Women in Medicine (WIM) programs and 15 years of the Faculty Affairs Forum (FAF). The reorganization into a focus on comprehensive professional development has been catalyzed by reports from the Increasing Women's Leadership committee and the Council for Academic Societies (CAS) task force on faculty leadership. Both of these reports recognized that organizational productivity and faculty development are interdependent.
