Faculty Vitae - January 2005
News and professional development for academic medical faculty
Welcome
to the premier issue of Faculty Vitae, the AAMC's new electronic
publication for medical faculty development. If you received the
prototype issue on Faculty Vitality in September
2004, welcome back! If you gave us feedback, thank you!
The theme of this issue is Diversity and Equity. The feature article
addresses salary equity and is supported
by recent references and by a Leadership
Lesson on negotiation basics. Your colleagues'
responses to inquiries of how to strengthen faculty diversity appear
in Perspectives. We've collected
memorable kudos and quotes for our colleagues
successes, and we've included a graphic snapshot of statistics
of academic faculty distribution by rank.
We've responded to the initial feedback from
our readers and hope to hear from more of you as we work to bring pertinent
information and timely education for faculty development to all medical
faculty in the U.S.
