Group on Faculty Affairs (GFA)
In September 2006, the AAMC Executive Council approved a proposal to
establish the new Group on Faculty Affairs (GFA). The GFA will support
institutional leaders in the development and enactment of policies and
programs that advance the academic missions of teaching, research, and
clinical care.
The GFA's mission is to build and sustain faculty vitality in medical
schools and teaching hospital. The GFA does this by supporting faculty
affairs deans and administrators in their development and implementation
of institutional policies and professional development activities
that advance the academic missions of teaching, research, and clinical
care. More >>

of the GFA Steering Committee, see Dr. Valerie Williams, Chair of
the GFA's New Chair's Column for updates.
2008 Faculty Affairs Professional Development Conference
The Group on Faculty Affairs invites you and your colleagues to
the 2008 Faculty Affairs Professional Development Conference: "Celebrating
Faculty Vitality and Diversity". The conference will be held
in Pittsburgh, PA on August 1-4. The focus will be on faculty vitality
and diversity in the broadest sense. The conference will feature
a creative mixture of plenary sessions, break-out sessions and poster
discussions.
For this conference to be a success, we need your help. We are seeking
the input of the community for poster abstracts and presentations.
Tell us about your promising practices in areas of diversity and vitality
that include the spectrum of issues, including generational influences,
ethnic, gender, and career path, to name a few. To complete the Call
for Sessions and Posters, please see the guidelines. |
