Faculty Affairs in Academic Medicine: Selected Bibliography

As changes continue to affect the way in which faculty are appointed, evaluated, and rewarded, medical school deans and faculty affairs administrators may look to current sources of information on national developments in the area of faculty affairs for guidance in developing innovative policies and programs. The Faculty Affairs in Academic Medicine: Selected Bibliography represents the joint efforts of the AAMC's Division of Institutional and Faculty Studies and Division of Medical School Affairs to draw together a list of resources for medical school administrators concerned with these issues.

Sources applicable to more than one category have been listed under all appropriate categorical headings. References in many of the larger categories have been classified under more specific subheadings. Finally, each broad category classifies citations according to their relevance to either the medical school specifically, or higher education in general. Except for "classics," only sources published since 1980 have been included in the listings.

The bibliography has been organized into two broad categories: Faculty Policy and Faculty Development.
