On behalf of the GSA Committee on Student Affairs, I am pleased to share this preliminary agenda for the AAMC Professional Development Conference for Medical School Student Affairs Officers. The conference theme is "Transition to Residency: Strategies for Success."

This conference has been designed to follow the process that a medical student takes on their journey to residency. Throughout each of the phases, there will be plenaries and break-out sessions that have been designed to discuss the tough issues including:

  • Current Challenges in the Match-post-Match Continuum
  • The Application Process
  • Match Fall-Back Plans
  • The Role of Relationships in the Medical Student Specialty Choice
  • Match Madness: Dispelling Urban Legends

As you will see when you view the program, this is a conference you do not want to miss.

I hope to see you at the meeting.

Samuel K. Parrish Jr., M.D., Chair,
GSA Committee on Student Affairs and Associate Dean for Student Affairs
Drexel University College of Medicine
