Voices of Academic Medicine
Two leading voices in medicine will discuss what it's like to speak openly -from an insider's perspective- about the state of medical care in America, the doctor-patient relationship, and the imperfect science of medicine. ORR Membership Dinner (off-site event)

It's one thing to know how to slice and dice your onions, when to slice and when to dice, and exactly what 'caramalizing' entails; but all this good knowledge is pretty useless to a wanna-be chef if the wanna-be can't apply the "techniques" learned in cooking school to the real-life time constraints that is the restaurant kitchen.

Take a seat at Technique, Le Cordon Bleu's new in-house restaurant where culinary students are on stage behind both the burner and the pen.

Student Loan Debt and Repayment - What's Behind the Numbers?
Not only have legislative changes created some of the most complex loan portfolios in the history of financial aid, but there are also changes that will affect how graduates repay these loans. With Economic Hardship Deferment going away for residents, and the introduction of Income-Based Repayment and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, it's more important than ever to understand repayment plans and strategies. This session will discuss current debt trends and follow the education path of "Dr. Median" to go behind the numbers and examine current options for student loan repayment/forgiveness and their impact during residency and beyond. Information regarding the National Health Service Corps as a repayment option will also be presented.
