News from the Meeting
Dr. Deborah E. Powell, of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Becomes AAMC Chair
Thomas J. Lawley, M.D., dean of Emory University School of Medicine, was named chair-elect and will succeed Dr. Powell as chair of the association in 2010. (Nov. 9, 2009)
2009 Award Recipients
The AAMC has awarded national recognition to nine individuals and one medical school for their outstanding contributions to academic medicine. The awards were presented on Nov. 7, during the AAMC annual meeting in Boston.
