LCME Workshop for Accreditation Site Surveyors (Closed)
This small-group session is targeted to both new and
experienced survey team members assigned to upcoming LCME accreditation
survey visits. Separate learning exercises will be targeted to each
group. Through interactive exercises, participants will focus on
interpretation of LCME accreditation standards, team member roles,
and conduct of the site visit. Attendance is by invitation only
and limited to those persons assigned to site visits prior to December
2008.

LCME Workshop for Survey Team Secretaries (Closed)
This session will provide opportunities for small-group
discussion regarding new standards and policies, development of
the site visit schedule, roles and responsibilities of team members,
conduct of the site visit, and preparation of the survey report.
Group exercises will address the particular challenges faced by
team secretaries. Attendance is by invitation only and is limited
to those persons assigned as team secretaries on site visits prior
to December 2008.

Medical School Preparation for LCME Accreditation This session is targeted to schools undergoing accreditation surveys
in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009. Staff from the LCME Secretariat, as
well as a panel of guest speakers, will focus on strategies for
an effective self-study and planning for the on-site survey. The
session also will address new and revised accreditation standards.
This session is open to all Annual Meeting registrants. Panelists:

Distributed Medical Education: Coloring within the Lines
of Accreditation
This session will provide an opportunity for dialog
among panelists, LCME staff, and attendees about the effective management
of education at multiple instructional sites. Panel discussion will
focus on the various accreditation standards related to distributed
education and the actions schools have taken to address the challenges
posed by those standards.

Public Hearing on Proposed Changes in LCME Standards
The LCME will hold a hearing for public comment on proposed
changes in accreditation standards relating to diversity. Proposed
changes include replacing existing standards on student diversity
(MS-8) and faculty diversity (FA-1) with a new standard and annotation
to be located in the Institutional Setting section of Functions
and Structure of a Medical School, the LCME's accreditation
standards document. The full text and rationale for each proposed
change, as well as instructions for submitting written comment,
can be found on the
LCME Web site.
