Plenary Description: Recently, the report of
the Institute for the Improvement of Medical Education (IIME) identified
the need to focus on the educational continnum, from admission to
medical school, across UGME, GME, and CME. An important aspect of
this continuum is the journey of the learner and the transitions
encountered along the way. In this session, the ideas and concepts
about transitions will be hi-lighted and discussed, from the perspectives
of the learner, the teacher, the educational and health care systems,
including the transitions within the field of medical education.
