As part of the 2006 AAMC Annual Meeting, AAMC, in conjunction with the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education, is offering My CME, a self-directed continuing medical education experience. This unique CME program will allow meeting participants to customize a meaningful education experience based on the sessions that they attend at the meeting. To participate in the CME program, register for the AAMC Annual Meeting and pay the additional $99.00 CME credit fee. You must be registered for the meeting in order to participate in the CME program. When you receive your annual meeting badge, you will also receive a ticket for the My CME program. At onsite registration, you will turn in your ticket for the CME materials which you will need to complete and submit to AAMC after the meeting. You will need to create a set of objectives for the meeting. It is recommended that you begin to craft your objectives in advance of the meeting; the materials will require you to put your objectives in writing. In thinking about your objectives, you should list three to five problems or questions that you plan to address — listing them as either learning objectives or in question form. You should be as detailed as possible. You should also think about which sessions will help you to answer the questions or address the problems you have identified. Over 200 sessions at the annual meeting will be eligible for CME credit; review a tentative list of sessions (PDF, 6 pages - 69KB). The materials you receive at the annual meeting will list all of the eligible sessions by day. Each day, you will be required to check off the sessions you attended. At the end of the meeting, you will need to identify your summary or evaluation for each objective and list your future action steps. You will need to submit your completed CME booklet to the AAMC by December 15. It will be reviewed by AAMC and by Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education, and certificates for those that have successfully completed the program will be issued no later than January 30, 2007. Late submissions will not be considered for credit. If you have questions about the My CME program, please contact Kirsten Olean at kolean@aamc.org. |
