Annual Reports

The Basic Science Department Data Report (BSDDR) and Clinical Department Data Report (CDDR), compare medical schools by department on the following dimensions:

Counts of:

faculty by rank
graduate students
residents

Selected expenditure items:

research grants
endowment
state funds

Selected ratios:

research grants per faculty
residents per faculty
state and other school of medicine funds per medical and graduate student

The Medical School Profile Report compares U.S. medical schools on 33 variables including faculty, students, revenues, and expenditures.

The Student Financial Aid Summary Report provides student financial aid data by public and private institutions, including grants, loans, and student debt.

The Tuition and Fees Report details each institution's tuition and fee charges.

The Institutional Goals Ranking Report (IGRR) ranks each institution according to:

federal research awards
students pursuing primary care
underrepresented minority graduates
graduates who are medical school faculty
alumni practicing within the state of graduation

Ad Hoc Reports

Cost

Most reports can be created for a small fee. Costs are directly related to the magnitude and/or complexity of the request.

AAMC's Data Release Policy

The AAMC has adopted a data release policy that classifies each data element as confidential, restricted or unrestricted.

Confidential data cannot be released for any reason without the express consent of the dean of the institution reporting the data.
Restricted data cannot be published, but may be provided at the discretion of MSPS personnel.
Unrestricted data can be released with no limitations.

The vast majority of data elements have an unrestricted designation. Regardless of classification, national aggregates are available for all data in the system.
