Clinical Research Training & Career Development

Current

Clinical research relies extensively on physicians whose training provides them a unique perspective in translating laboratory findings to clinical practice. AAMC strongly supports the new NIH Clinical Research Loan Repayment Program and other education loan repayment programs created by Congress.

NIH has also established important programs to assist in the career development of clinical investigators, including mentored and mid-career patient-oriented research career development awards (K23 and K24, respectively), the Clinical Research Curriculum Award (K30), the Clinical Associate Physician (CAP) awards program.
