Final MedPAC Commissioner Appointed

June 11, 2004 - Comptroller General of the United States David M. Walker May 27 announced the appointment of Arnold Milstein, M.D., M.P.H., medical director, Pacific Business Group on Health, as the final new member of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). Comptroller Walker named three additional new members and reappointed two members to the Commission on May 20 [see Washington Highlights, May 21]. Dr. Milstein also serves as U.S. health care thought leader for Mercer Human Resource Consulting and associate clinical professor at the University of California at San Francisco. He received his B.A. in economics from Harvard, his M.P.H. in health services planning from the University of California at Berkeley, and his M.D. from Tufts University.
