January 23, 2004 - Rep. Charlie Gonzalez (D-Texas) was named to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, taking the seat vacated by Rep. Ralph Hall (R-Texas) when he switched parties earlier this year. Rep. Hall will remain on the Committee, filling the seat vacated by Rep. Ernie Fletcher (R-Ky.) who resigned in December following his inauguration as Governor of Kentucky. Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.) was officially named to replace Rep. Hall as ranking member of the House Science Committee.
