Bush Nominates Bolten to Head OMB

May 30, 2003 - President Bush May 22 nominated Joshua B. Bolten to be the next director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Current OMB Director Mitch Daniels announced May 6 his intention to step down in early June. Mr. Bolten's nomination must be confirmed by the Senate.

Currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Mr. Bolten also served as policy director for the Bush-Cheney 2000 presidential campaign and presidential transition, and previously as an executive with Goldman Sachs, International. He has also worked as international trade council for the Senate Finance Committee and as deputy assistant to the President for legislative affairs in the first Bush Administration.
