MedPAC Commissioners Reappointed

May 30, 2003 - In a May 27 press release, Comptroller General of the United States David M. Walker announced the reappointment of the six Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) members whose terms would have expired this year. The reappointed members are:

  • Glenn M. Hackbarth, J.D., (Chair), consultant;
  • Robert D. Reischauer, Ph.D., (Vice Chair), president, The Urban Institute;
  • Autry O.V. "Pete" DeBusk, chairman, CEO, and founder of DeRoyal;
  • Alan R. Nelson, M.D., special advisor to the Executive Vice President and CEO, American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine;
  • David A. Smith, senior policy advisor to the President, American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations; and
  • Ray E. Stowers, D.O., director of Rural Health, Department of Family Medicine, Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
