AAMC Submits Comments on HEA Reauthorization

May 30, 2003 - The AAMC May 23 sent a letter to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee outlining the Association's recommendations related to the reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. Similar to letters sent previously to the House Education and the Workforce Committee and the Department of Education, the May 23 letter focuses primarily on the issues of increasing Stafford loan limits and extending the economic hardship deferment. The AAMC has also endorsed the broader recommendations put forward by the American Council on Education (ACE).
