HHS Releases Semiannual Regulatory Agenda

December 13, 2002 - The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Dec. 9 published in the Federal Register [67 FR 74492] its semiannual regulatory agenda documenting all rulemakings that will be under development or review in the coming year. The document divides the department's efforts by agency and by stage in the rulemaking process. As expected, the agenda includes references to several rules pertaining to Medicare and Medicaid payments to hospitals and physicians.

Also of interest to medical schools and teaching hospitals is an expected interim final rule regarding waivers of the two-year foreign residence requirement under the J-1 visa program.
