Publication of Medicare 2003
Physician Fee Schedule Delayed
December 6, 2002 - Despite previous reports that the
final publication of the 2003 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule
was to be published on Dec. 2, the publication has not yet
occurred. Although CMS has a Nov. 1 publication deadline,
publication of the fee schedule has been delayed in previous
years when data analysis or methodology complications have
arisen. CMS has reported that technical analyses of the treatment
of anesthesia codes under the fee schedule have caused the
delay.
