OHRP Director to Step Down

October 18, 2002-Citing heavy burdens placed on his family, Greg Koski, M.D., informed Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson Oct. 16 of his intention to leave the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP) effective Nov. 30 to return to private life. Dr. Koski became the first head of the OHRP when it was established two years ago. He noted in his resignation letter the great progress the office has made during his tenure, but also the remaining challenges, as outlined in the Institute of Medicine report released earlier this month.
