MedPAC Names New Executive Director

August 2, 2002 - The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) has named Mark Miller, Ph.D., as its new Executive Director. Dr. Miller currently is assistant director of health and human resources at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Previously he had served in senior positions at the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Dr. Miller succeeds Murray Ross, Ph.D., who left MedPAC to join Kaiser Permanente's Institute for Health Policy as its director of health policy studies. Dr. Miller will begin at MedPAC in the fall.
