HRSA Announces Leadership Changes

August 2, 2002 - Elizabeth James Duke, Ph.D., administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), announced July 25 that Sam Shekar, M.D., M.P.H., would become associate administrator of the Bureau of Primary Health Care at HRSA, effective July 29. Filling his position as head of the Bureau of Health Professions is Kerry Nesseler, R.N., M.S., leaving her position of deputy associate administrator of the Maternal Child Health Bureau.

Other leadership changes include Jon L. Nelson, M.S., as the new director of the Office of Management and Program Support; and William D. Hobson, Jr., M.S., currently deputy director of the Bureau of Primary Health Care, to replace Nelson as director of the Office of Special Programs.
