President Signs Bioterrorism Bill

June 14, 2002- President Bush June 12 signed the $4.6 billion bioterrorism bill (P.L. 107-188). The law authorizes preparedness funding for states and hospitals, increased control over biological agents and toxins, and enhanced protection of the food and water supply, among other provisions [see Washington Highlights, May 24].
