Bipartisan NSF Doubling Bill Introduced

May 10, 2002 - Lawmakers from both parties came together May 7 to introduce H.R. 4664, the National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002, which authorizes 15 percent increases for the National Science Foundation in FY's 2003, 2004 and 2005, mimicking the campaign for the National Institutes of Health. The President's proposed budget for the NSF in FY 2003 calls for an increase of 5 percent. The House Science Research Subcommittee approved the bill on May 9.
