Clancy Named Acting Director of AHRQ

March 29, 2002 - HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson March 22 appointed Carolyn Clancy, M.D., as acting director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Since 1997, she has directed AHRQ's Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research (COER), which conducts and supports studies of the outcomes and effectiveness of diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services and procedures.
