Duke Named HRSA Administrator

March 8, 2002 - Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson announced March 6 that Elizabeth James Duke, Ph.D., has been appointed to serve as administrator of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Dr. Duke has been acting administrator of the agency since March 2001.

HRSA, the second largest Public Health Service agency, administers the National Health Service Corps, the Title VII and VIII health professions programs, the Community Health Centers, and the Ryan White AIDS programs.
