DSA Issues New
SDS Eligibility Criteria
The Division of Student Assistance (DSA) within the Bureau of Health
Professions (BHPr) Aug. 31 issued a policy
memorandum outlining new eligibility criteria for institutions participating
in the Scholarships for Disadvantage Students (SDS) program. Beginning
with the 2002-2003 academic year applications, students from disadvantaged
backgrounds must comprise at least 10 percent of the full-time enrollment
of the program, and at least 10 percent of the total graduates of the
program for the specified reporting years. SDS applications for the
2002-2003 academic year are expected to be available in November 2001.
