The Ad Hoc Group for Medical Research Funding has released its annual
budget proposal
for NIH. For FY 2002, the group recommends an appropriation of $23.7 billion
for NIH as the fourth step toward the bipartisan goal of doubling the NIH
budget by FY 2003.
The AAMC is a founding member of the Ad Hoc Group, which is chaired
by AAMC Executive Vice President Dick Knapp, Ph.D. AAMC President Jordan
J. Cohen, M.D., encourages association members to endorse the proposal
and use it in their individual advocacy efforts on behalf of the NIH budget.
