New Representative
Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) was elected Dec. 18 to succeed the late Floyd Spence
(R-S.C.) who passed away Aug. 16. Rep. Wilson is a former aide to Mr.
Spence and also served in the South Carolina State Senate for 17 years.
His election brings the House of Representatives to full capacity for
the first time in the 107th Congress. The new party breakdown is 222
Republicans, 211 Democrats, and 2 Independents.
